MS for the Vale of Clwyd, Gareth Davies, was keen to hear the views of the Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman regarding policing and crime in North Wales.
Gareth addressed the most pressing issue facing police forces across the UK and asked the Chief Constable what she is doing to tackle the scandals in recent weeks.
He said following the discussion regarding recent scandals, ''I understand that many officers on the beat, who are dedicated to public service, are deeply worried that members of the public have lost trust in their police officers. I am confident that Chief Constable Blakeman will address these concerns and I have full confidence that her cultural audit will begin to restore any lost trust''.
Gareth also quizzed the Chief Constable on the condition of Rhyl Police Station. He was glad that she confirmed she is meeting with the Commissioner to discuss improving the infrastructure. Additionally, Gareth was glad to hear that she is addressing the cause of crime across Vale of Clwyd and North Wales.
Commenting, Gareth said 'Cost of living pressures caused an increase in fuel theft and shop lifting. However, thanks to the hard work of our police officers, recent statistics show that crime is falling. This is a show of confidence in our local police officers and their ability to defend residents''.
