Speaking during a Welsh Government debate calling for powers over broadcasting to be devolved to Wales, Vale of Clwyd MS, Gareth Davies, has said such a move was a huge mistake and risks doing more harm.
Commenting after the debate he added;
"We have the right balance when it comes to broadcasting and the media landscape in Wales, we have a free and open media regulated by an independent body to ensure impartiality and integrity.
"We also enjoy the benefits of being part of a larger whole. BBC Wales and S4C enjoy a level of funding that wouldn't exist if we were reliant on licence fee payers in Wales alone.
"Welsh Government can run the services the have powers over at the moment, they need to stop asking for more and get on with the job they were put in place to do; Improving peoples lives and livelihoods."
