Gareth Davies visited Coleg Cambria to commend its decade-long Active Wellbeing Programme, which promotes fitness, wellness, and inclusion for students and staff. The initiative offers a range of activities, from girls-only gym sessions to 1-2-1 wellness plans, ensuring inclusive participation for neurodiverse and ILS students.
During the visit, Gareth met PALS Ambassador Lily Allen and learned about the 'New You, New Start' pilot, which has helped disengaged students adopt healthier lifestyles, with impressive results. He also praised the Coleg’s outreach initiatives, such as Junior Athletics and upcoming multisport sessions for local schools, which foster a love of sport from an early age.
Gareth highlighted the programme’s positive impact on both students and staff, noting its contribution to physical and mental well-being. He expressed strong support for the Coleg’s holistic approach and pledged to explore opportunities, including a potential Member’s debate in the Senedd, to champion these vital initiatives.
Following the visit, Vale of Clwyd MS Gareth Davies said:
