Gareth Davies, MS for the Vale of Clwyd, has called on the Welsh Government to ensure that the entire of North Wales benefits from recent sporting success.
Recent football success in Wrexham has put the area on the map and brought much needed investment to the city, with the positive affects being seen across the whole of North Wales. However, Gareth firmly believes that the Welsh Government must play its role in ensuring that the region benefits more, in terms of sporting and financial success.
Commenting, Gareth said:
''Wrexham's success has shown that football is on the rise in Wales and regional teams are finally getting the recognition and support they deserve. I know many of my constituents who are fans of Wrexham are glad that North Wales is being put on the football map''.
''Although we are seeing financial benefits from sporting success in our pubs and sports grounds, I firmly believe that the Welsh Government can do more to make North Wales into a sporting hub with new talent being able to thrive in Wales' true home of football''.
As Rhyl's own team is beginning to grow, there is plenty of inspiration to take from other sporting successes which can continue to bring benefits to the area.
