Member of the Senedd for Vale of Clwyd, Gareth Davies MS urges residents in Denbighshire to take part in an online public consultation on Council Tax reform by the Welsh Government.
This is the first time the Welsh Government are looking at reforming the way people in Wales pay their Council Tax for the first time since 2003 and there is uncertainty around what this will look like for residents in Denbighshire currently, depending on which option is chose by the the Welsh Government following a consultation.
Speaking about the consultation, Mr Davies said, "this is the first time the Welsh Government are looking at reforming Council Tax in over 20 years and it's crucial that they get it right as it's such a big expenditure for many households and a obligatory expenditure at that, that's why I'm encouraging as many residents in Denbighshire to take part in the consultation so that we can get our views across and influence decision makers in Cardiff Bay about what Council Tax might look like in the next generation."
Mr Davies added, " at a time where finances are difficult and bills are soaring it's important that the decisions Welsh Government make around Council Tax reform are reflective of the views of the local residents Councils serve, so I would encourage everyone to take part in the consultation."
