Gareth Davies, Member of the Senedd for the Vale of Clwyd, has welcomed the UK Government’s £20 million investment into Rhyl, which is part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda. This funding is for the delivery of projects based on local needs and priorities, revitalising the town centre, and transforming Rhyl’s High Street.
The additional £20 million earmarked by the Chancellor of the Exchequer follows £26 million that Denbighshire County Council received last year through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Responding to the announcement of £20 million of Levelling Up funding for Rhyl, Gareth said:
“I welcome the £20 million Levelling Up investment into Rhyl which will pay dividends, helping to revitalise the town centre and deliver projects for local people.
“With the Labour-run Welsh Government’s cuts to Business Rates Relief, this investment from the UK Government is essential to ensure that we continue efforts to breathe life back into Rhyl’s High Street following the Covid-19 pandemic with other projects such as the Queen’s market development offering fantastic opportunities for small businesses."
