Gareth Davies MS has met with the Director of Sustrans Cymru and local Sustrans volunteer in Rhyl to discuss active travel in the Vale of Clwyd.
The Sustrans Director, Christine Boston and the local Sustrans Coordinator took the local MS along the Rhyl section of the National Cycle Network to highlight the benefits of the network as well as walking and cycling.
Commenting on the tour, Gareth Davies MS said;
"I am a huge proponent of active travel as it brings huge mental and physical benefits and I am keen to work with organisations such as Sustrans to improve walking and cycling routes across Denbighshire."
"If we are to encourage more active travel then we must make it easier and safer to walk and cycle."
"We will only encourage people to leave the car behind if there are viable alternatives. Initiatives such as the National Cycle Network gives people the option to ditch the car for shorter journeys, which is not only good for our physical and mental health but also good for the planet."
