This week Gareth visited Ysgol y Castell in Rhuddlan and was given a tour of the school by Miss Sara Tate who came to the school in 2023, having previously been headteacher at Bangor-on-Dee primary school in Wrexham.
During the tour, Gareth was delighted to learn of the modifications that have recently been undertaken at the school, as well as upgrades currently in the pipeline, to improve pupil accessibility and inclusion.
Gareth was also pleased to meet with members of the school's teaching faculty and learn more about the school's ongoing programmes to support the delivery of academic and pastoral education. Gareth described a positive environment at the school which was corroborated in the feedback from the ‘glowing’ Estyn report in 2022.
Commenting on his visit to the school, Gareth said:
“I was delighted this week to have the opportunity to visit Ysgol y Castell in Rhuddlan.
“The staff have fostered a fantastic learning environment at the school where pupils are safe and happy, this was reflected by the glowing Estyn report.
“I would like to thank the staff for the tour, and I am looking forward to returning to Ysgol y Castell once the new works have been completed. “
