On Friday 1st December, Vale of Clwyd MS Gareth Davies met with Dennis Ho, the owner of Bodelwyddan Pharmacy, regarding his work in the community and plans for expansion. Something of a local legend, he has been working in pharmacy for over 40 years, 10 of those being in Bodelwyddan.
The pharmacy is known for providing extended hours of service operating 7 days a week between 8.45am and 10pm, providing a vital service to the Bodelwyddan community with the pharmacy in high demand due to referrals being made by the Glan Clwyd Hospital. In October Mr Ho was the recipient of a gift of baked goods from St Asaph-based group ‘Random Acts of Kindness’, as a show of appreciation for his work in the community.
Mr Davies met with the Bodelwyddan proprietor to convey his gratitude for the service he and his staff have provided for the local community and discuss future plans for the pharmacy.
Mr Davies added:
“It was a pleasure to meet Mr Ho from the Bodelwyddan Pharmacy and convey my gratitude to him for the hard work he and his staff do in the community, the valuable service they offer, and how dedicated to the community they are.”
Speaking on the importance of community resources like Bodelwyddan Pharmacy, Mr Davies said:
“The Bodelwyddan Pharmacy is in high demand and provides an invaluable service to the local community taking pressure off the oversubscribed Glan Clwyd Hospital. The dedication of the team is appreciated even more considering the closures of other larger pharmacy chains in the area. The focus that Mr Ho places on the clinical and medication element of his practice rather than the retail element is incredibly important, and the relationship Bodelwyddan pharmacy has with local medical facilities and professionals should serve as a model to others.”
