Last month, Vale of Clwyd MS, Gareth Davies, held his annual community Christmas Card Competition, inviting infant and primary school aged children across Denbighshire to take part, showcasing the artistic flair of young people in his constituency.
The competition was won by Sienna Perry, a year 5 pupil at Ysgol Frongoch in Denbigh, who drew a colourful and festive design of Santa Claus delivering gifts to houses against a snowy night-time landscape. The design has been used for Gareth’s official 2024 Christmas card which has been sent to hundreds of people locally and nationally, including political figureheads across Wales, as well as key organisations and individuals in Denbighshire.
With the standard of entries being particularly high, Gareth was not able to pick a single runner up and has selected seven entrants for an honourable mention. He also thanked all children who sent in their drawings and the schools that took part in the competition.
The seven entries selected for honourable mention:
- Harrison, Year 4, Ysgol Brynhedydd
- Macey, Year 6, Ysgol Brynhedydd
- Mehreen, Year 6, Ysgol Emmanuel
- Tuana, Christ the Word Catholic School
- Zaki, Year 5, Ysgol Frongoch
- Seren, Year 6, Fairholme Preparatory School
- Archie, Year 5,Ysgol Melyd
